Position: High Risk Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team. This position involves the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care in a high-risk acute patient setting. The ideal candidate will provide holistic and individualized care while fostering collaborative relationships among patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care, including direct patient care and patient/family education.
• Coordinate a comprehensive plan of care that considers psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements:

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (American Heart Association).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification.
• AWHONN Intermediate Certification.
• Experience with Epic Charting System is mandatory.
• Two years of experience in Obstetrics with a focus on high-risk cases.
• Availability for weekend rotation; no on-call shifts required.
• Completion of EKG testing on-site, with a minimum passing score of 80%.

Patient Care Experience:

• Previous experience as a Charge Nurse is preferred.
• Able to manage a patient ratio of 1:2 during Antepartum care, and 1:3 during Labor & Delivery.
• Experience in a community hospital setting is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Proficient in the administration of blood products, amnioinfusion, and antepartum management.
• Experience with high-risk deliveries and postpartum care.
• Ability to utilize fetal heart monitoring and understand abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Competent in performing sterile vaginal exams and assisting in Cesarean sections.

Unit Details:

• Daily census: 250-300 deliveries per month.
• Number of patient rooms: 26.
• Number of beds: 20.
• Interdisciplinary support is available from various specialty services.

Compliance and Onboarding:

• All candidates must complete a 7-year work history verification.
• Compliance documents are due 10 days prior to the start date.
• Orientation hours: 36.
