Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify specific emotional and psychological needs, which will inform their individualized care plans.

• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions focused on addressing the unique emotional challenges that arise during aging, such as loneliness, fear of losing independence, and impending loss.

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams—including physicians, social workers, and occupational therapists—to create comprehensive treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of geriatric residents.

• Provide education and support to staff and families, ensuring they understand the best practices for promoting emotional well-being and strategies to enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals.

• Deliver grief and loss counseling for residents and their families who are coping with end-of-life situations, utilizing therapeutic modalities appropriate for this sensitive population.

• Develop and implement cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions designed to enhance mental acuity and emotional resiliency among elderly individuals.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with elderly individuals grappling with a variety of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders related to aging. Moreover, you will support clients dealing with complex grief and loss scenarios, providing them and their families with compassionate care and sound therapeutic interventions. Qualifications\n

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in accordance with Florida state regulations.

Compensation and Benefits\n
