We are currently searching for a dynamic Sr. Commercial Credit Analyst to join our Credit Union family. This position will be based at our Sheridan location (Pembroke Pines- I-75 & Sheridan) and has a mix of onsite and remote/hybrid.

This position is responsible for all aspects of underwriting and prudently managing commercial loans, many being complex in nature, including but not limited to: preparation of credit approval memos and annual reviews; spreading and analyzing financial data in Sageworks (or any other financial analysis software the Credit Union may utilize); making recommendations on loan structure; vetting the viability of new loan opportunities, renewals and modifications; and understanding and applying basic real estate valuation estimates. 

In this position you will:

\n
• Underwrite credit approval memos, many being of a complex nature, annual reviews and modifications.
\n
• Conduct regular phone and email contact with borrowers, for reasons such as: requesting financial information; asking underwriting questions; discussing the purpose of each loan; understanding the borrower’s business/financial goals and how the subject transaction fits in with them. The Credit Analyst should be a trusted member of the borrower’s financial team.
\n
• Pre-screening potential new loans and/or modifications & increases to existing loans.
\n
• Assist and cooperate with the Loan Servicing Team in clearing pre-closing conditions related to credit quality. Examples include: verification of liquidity; BSA/OFAC searches; review of leases; written explanations from borrowers of derogatory or unusual background findings; or similar items. While an understanding of loan documentation and related conditions such as insurance or lien releases is encouraged, it is not the direct responsibility of the Credit Analyst.
\n
• Coach and mentor Commercial Lending Credit Analyst(s) on an ongoing basis to strengthen their knowledge and skills for more complex deals.
\n
• Perform Collateral Monitoring by coordinating with Portfolio Analyst on procuring appraisals, environmental reports, construction reviews, or any other appropriate collateral monitoring reports.
\n
• Complete site visits/property inspections of collateral property located in the tri-county area (Dade; Broward; Palm Beach). Coordinate with Portfolio Analyst on procuring third-party site visits/property inspections for all collateral property located outside the tri-county area.
\n
• Other duties as assigned.

To be considered you will need:

\n
• Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics or Business related field.
\n
• A minimum of 5 years related Commercial Credit Underwriting experience.
\n
• Formal credit training by a bank, institutional lender, or third-party training company such as Risk Management Association or American Bankers’ Association. College courses in commercial lending are acceptable as well.
\n
• Credit Analyst should have the ability to apply the “Five C’s of Credit” to every loan:

• Math Ability- Must have sound understanding of basic accounting and have the ability to calculate figures.
\n
• MS Office applications: Intermediate-to-Advanced Word and Excel.
\n
• Must have strong attention to detail to include solid data entry with limited errors.
\n
• Must possess the ability to remain calm, patient, objective, and professional when presented with difficult situations.
\n
• Must be able to work in a time sensitive environment, making sound decisions and communicating these decisions to stakeholders.
\n
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding oral and written communication skills.
\n
• Strong proficiency with financial statement spreading.
\n
• Must be capable of working independently on larger, complex credit requests.
\n
• Must be able to review and analyze all member/customer financial information to ensure sound credit decisions.
\n
• Must be able to work in cohesive manner with Lender/Relationship officers and have ability to discuss results of loan reviews with loan officers to obtain a full understanding of the loan relationship.
\n
• Must have the ability to meet attendance standards and adhere to work schedule.
\n
• Must have the ability to write advanced level commercial credit memorandums.
\n
• Maintains knowledge of PFCU policies, risk rating requirements and compliance standards. Will maintain current knowledge of risk-related changes that may impact assigned area(s) or responsibility.
