Now Hiring:  Single-Hand Welder / Fabrication & Maintenance Technician

Location: Odessa, Texas

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and versatile Single-Hand Welder / Fabrication & Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is  not solely a welding position . In addition to structural welding and fabrication, this individual will perform a variety of maintenance, installation, and construction-related tasks to support our facilities and operations.

• The ideal candidate will have experience in structural steel fabrication, welding, building maintenance, and general construction. This role requires someone who can work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and take ownership of projects from start to finish while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Welding & Fabrication

• Fabricate and assemble oilfield switch racks, skids, steel structures, and metal buildings.
• Perform GMAW (MIG) and FCAW welding in accordance with company and project specifications.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Measure, cut, fit, and assemble structural steel and metal components to precise specifications.
• Operate plasma cutting equipment, torches, grinders, chop saws, and other fabrication tools.
• Perform  grinding, finishing, and quality inspections on completed welds and assemblies .
• Assist with painting, installation, and other fabrication-related tasks.

Building & Facility Maintenance

• Install doors, frames, and associated hardware.
• Install and repair sheet metal components and panels.
• Repair, replace, and renovate ceiling systems as needed.
• Perform  general maintenance and upkeep of company buildings, structures, and yard facilities .
• Assist with structural repairs and modifications to existing buildings and equipment.
• Support facility improvement projects and construction-related tasks .
• Maintain work areas, buildings, and yard facilities in a safe, organized, and professional manner.

Equipment & Safety

• Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and scissor lifts as required.
• Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
• Lift and move materials, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding work as necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in welding, fabrication, construction, maintenance, or a related industrial environment.
• Experience with GMAW (MIG) and FCAW welding processes.
• Strong structural welding and fabrication experience, including skids, racks, and steel structures.
• Proficiency in plasma cutting and metal fabrication techniques.
• Experience working with steel frame structures and building components.
• Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, fabrication drawings, and measuring instruments.
• Experience using  hand tools, power tools, grinders, torches, and fabrication equipment.
• Strong  mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift certification.
• Experience operating overhead cranes.
• Experience operating scissor lifts.
• Door and hardware installation experience.
• Sheet metal fabrication and installation experience.
• Ceiling installation and repair experience.
• Building maintenance or construction experience.
• Oilfield fabrication experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift and carry 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work in physically demanding environments.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
• Ability to safely wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
