Operating Room Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Full-Time - 4x9s, 36 hours/week, Monday to Friday. Shifts start between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM, ending between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM.

Job Description

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) will deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The OR RN must have circulating experience and be able to float to various units. The primary service lines include Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, ENT, GI, Spine, Ophthalmology, and Podiatry. This role requires proficiency in patient assessment, plan development, direct care, and education.

Responsibilities

• Circulate surgical procedures across multiple service lines.
• Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Provide direct patient care and evaluate progress.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and lifestyle changes.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Document all patient care activities and response to treatments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in the state.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (all through AHA/RQI).
• 2 years of experience working in the OR as a circulating nurse.
• Experience in Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, ENT, GI, Spine, Ophthalmology, and Podiatry is preferred.
