Videographer Position at Virginia Union University

The Videographer is responsible for capturing high-quality video content to promote the university's programs, events, and initiatives across multiple platforms. This role involves planning, shooting, editing, and producing videos for marketing, communications, and social media channels, ensuring all video materials align with the university's brand and messaging goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, film, and edit a variety of video content, including but not limited to promotional videos, event coverage, student and faculty testimonials, social media content, and recruitment videos.
• Coordinate with departments to understand video needs and create compelling content tailored to different audiences.
• Edit video footage and audio, incorporate graphics, effects, and music, and deliver polished final products that meet university standards.
• Collaborate with the communications team to align video projects with university marketing strategies.
• Manage video shoot logistics, including location scouting, talent coordination, and scheduling.
• Ensure videos are properly formatted and optimized for various platforms, including the university website, YouTube, social media, and email campaigns.
• Maintain an organized library of video footage and ensure all digital assets are stored and backed up appropriately.
• Stay up to date with the latest video production trends, tools, and techniques to continually improve video content quality.
• Suggest new video content ideas, formats, and platforms to enhance the university's digital presence.
• Maintain a consistent visual style and narrative across all video content.
• Assist in livestreaming university events (e.g., commencement, conferences, special announcements).

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Film, Video Production, Communications, Media Arts, or related field.
• Proven experience in video production, including filming, editing, and post-production.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds.
