ZTEX Construction is a heavy civil contractor specializing in earthwork, concrete, asphalt paving, underground utilities and overall project management. We are locally owned, and we are currently looking for Administrative Assistant with the Estimating Department. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable, energetic, proactive, willing to learn and grow with the company, and overall be a team player.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

Daily duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Maintains and organizes databases on vendor’s quotes.
• Scans plans and all documentation related to bids and quotes for project management.
• Assists the Estimators with preparing bid packets to be submitted for projects.
• Stores, organizes and manages files for all job bids.
• Reviews and examines documents for accuracy before and after bid submittals.
• Manages vendor relations for organization.
• Run errands as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficient in Excel software
• Knowledgeable in working with various software systems, tech savvy.
• Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. computer, scanner, fax machines, printers etc. all.)
• Detail oriented with keen eye to spot errors, meticulous and accurate.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
• Highly organized and efficient.
• Ability to manage time well and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage highly confidential information,
• Excellent Timeliness and Attendance is required.

Education, Training and Experience

• Must be fully bilingual English/Spanish
• Prior experience in a clerical or administrative assistant role
• Experience in construction, estimating and/or bidding is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Training or Certificate in Office/Estimating Administration a plus.

• Valid Driver’s License a must at the time of application with a good driving record, required.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• This position is an office setting at a construction yard.
• Must be able to sit, walk, and stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift, push, pull 10 – 25lbs.

Environmental Conditions:

Varies from a climate-controlled office setting to work in an open garage/warehouse with temperatures ranging from mild/moderate to extreme cold/heat. Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to loud for occasional to frequent time periods.

Additional Qualifying Factors

A s a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical screening. If applicable to the contract, you may also be required to submit through a background check. Must have reliable transportation to/from work, must have a valid driver's license at time of application.
