Position: Food Service Specialist

Pay Rate: $17.18-$19.58 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30am-2pm

Location: Homestead , Pa

Job Summary

Prepares and serves all food items including food for special diets and special events. Responsible for following regulatory requirements. Assistswith coordination of food service activities.

• Service Delivery-Demonstratesthe ability to implement, develop, and manage a variety of services, including financial, food, human resources, information, and transportation services. Ensures all services are delivered with a focus on quality, cost-effectiveness, measurable outcomes, and continuous improvement. Applies corrective actions as needed and incorporates best practices and innovative approaches to service delivery.

• Food Service Integrity-Maintainsstrict adherence to all regulatory and safety standards. Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing kitchen utensils, equipment, and all food service areas, including serving lines, storage spaces, and dining areas.

• Food Service Nutrition and Sanitation -Supports a safe and healthy environment for clients and staff bymaintaininghigh sanitation standards and ensuring compliance with nutritional guidelinesestablishedby the USDA and Bureau of Child Nutrition.

Qualifications

EDUCATION : HighSchool Diploma or GED and Certification by County Board of Health required.

EXPERIENCE:

• 1yearexperience in food preparationrequired.

• School cafeteria or school lunch program experience preferred.

• Valid driver’s license must be maintained.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Continuouslyrequires walking, standing, and repetitive wrist/hand movement (3/4 - 4/4 pfthe workday) Oftenrequires stooping, bending andlifting upto 50 pounds (1/4 - 1/2 of thework day). Regularlyrequires pushing/pulling (1/2 - 3/4 of the workday). Seldom requires sitting (0 - 1/4 of thework day). Range of hearing and visionsufficient tooperatestandard office machines and communicate with co-workers and stakeholders in person and via telephone. Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances. Seldom drives a Devereux vehicle or van. Continuously worksinside inareas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Somefluctuation in temperature.
