JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Certified Medical Assistant plays a crucial role on our healthcare team. This position requires a detailed-oriented, well-organized, compassionate individual to support our healthcare providers and ensure the efficient delivery of patient care. The Certified Medical Assistant must be flexible, team-oriented, adaptable and have a commitment to providing high quality care and the best possible patient experience. The Certified Medical Assistant must be able to think critically, prioritize workflow, and support providers in managing patient flow.

Qualifications:

Current certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited institution REQUIRED.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and healthcare team members.

Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Graduation from a certified medical assistant program.

Previous experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must have the ability to travel independently throughout the building to access information from other departments.

Normal range of motion to fulfill job duties as described above including but not limited to:

· Sitting and working on a computer.

· Walking, reaching, and bending.

· Standing for extended periods during patient exams or procedures.

· Assisting pediatric patients to examination tables and/or positioning them for medical procedures when necessary.

· Using fine motor skills when using medical equipment, such as thermometers, blood pressure cuffs, and other diagnostic tools.
