Must-Have: Cardiac telemetry experience is required. Experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is essential. Ability to start IVs. Step-down experience is preferred.

Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in cancellation and DNR. The unit will accept first-time travelers with preferred step-down experience. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:6 with an average daily census of 23. The contract is for 13 weeks with options for 36 or 48 hours per week. No overtime will be billed until after 48 hours. Floating is required within the facility. There is a requirement for 8 weekend shifts during the contract. Patients may present with cardiac arrhythmias, myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, uncontrolled diabetes, DKA, heart failure, and post-heart catheterization or device procedures. Quality nurses who can handle similar ratios as other units are needed. Teamwork is essential as there are no charge nurses on the unit. Special procedures include managing cardiac drips with no titration for blood pressure. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams. Candidates must complete EKG testing prior to starting. All testing must be completed within 48 hours after signing.
