Travel Med-Surg RN – Albuquerque, NM | 3x12 Days | 1:6 Ratio | Auto Offer Medical Surgical | Acute Care | High-Volume Unit Overview Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role supports a busy Med‑Surg unit providing care to adult and geriatric patients in a structured acute care hospital setting. Position Overview This assignment is ideal for Med‑Surg nurses who are comfortable managing full patient loads, working in a fast‑paced environment, and supporting a variety of medical conditions including renal, respiratory, and post‑procedural care. Assignment Details 13‑week contract Day shift 3x12s (06:30–19:00) Patient ratio: 1:6 Unit census: ~32 patients 36 or 48‑hour option available (48 straight time allowed) Weekend requirement: 6 shifts within 6‑week period Floating required to like units No call required 2 positions available Compensation Because travel rates change frequently based on market demand and facility needs, recruiters provide the most current and competitive pay packages during the initial conversation. Each compensation package is customized and may include taxable hourly wages along with tax‑free stipends when applicable. Clinical Responsibilities Provide care for Med‑Surg patients across a variety of diagnoses Administer medications including heparin, insulin, and PCA Manage IV therapy, PICC lines, and blood product administration Provide respiratory support including oxygen therapy and HFNC Perform wound care, drain management, and post‑procedure care Monitor patients and activate rapid response teams as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care Document patient care in Epic EMR Work Environment Acute care hospital setting Med‑Surg unit (~32 beds) Adult and geriatric patient population Epic charting system Scrubs: any color (no logos) Requirements Minimum 1 year Med‑Surg RN experience First‑time travelers accepted (must have 24 months RN experience) BLS required CPI preferred Experience with IV therapy, wound care, and Med‑Surg patient population Must be comfortable with 1:6 patient ratios NM or Compact RN license required (pending accepted, must be active prior to start) #J-18808-Ljbffr Purple Cow Recruiting
