Surgical Coordinator

Surgery SchedulerCoordinates all aspects of surgery scheduling.Responsibilities:Schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.Coordinates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities, surgeon, staff and equipment.Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments.Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
