Job Summary
Telemetry Nurse (RN) – Night Shift – located within the healthcare provider. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to telemetry patients, including those with cardiac conditions, post-surgical patients, and potentially oncology patients. The role requires adherence to evidence-based practices in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
Job Details
- Position Description: 32-bed unit with all private rooms, combining medical/surgical and telemetry patients. The unit serves patients with acute and chronic medical conditions, post-surgical recovery, urology, GYN, podiatry, and general surgery, including stroke and non-titratable drips.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, required.
- Education and Experience: RN license; at least 2 years' experience in a telemetry setting preferred.
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week; shifts include 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with every shift huddle at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
- Responsibilities: Read and interpret cardiac rhythms using GE monitors, manage set rate drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin, and uphold patient safety protocols including bedside shift reports and hourly rounding.
- Additional Information: Must be comfortable with a high-volume surgical and medical patient population, including stroke and oncology patients. The unit is strict on attendance and punctuality. Orientation consists of 1-2 shifts with a preceptor.
- Submission Requirements: Must be licensed to submit, with certifications in ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NIHSS.
