Meat & Seafood AssistantEvening and weekend availability requiredJoin the team at Eastside Food Co-op, in the heart of Northeast Minneapolis! We're looking for team members who are visionary, hard-working and committed to community building! Meat & Seafood staff provide excellent customer service, participate in producing quality products, maintain a clean and stocked department, and are positive contributors to the Meat & Seafood Department team.ALL CO-OP STAFF WILL:Use all available tools and resources in order to provide excellent and knowledgeable customer service to all customers, coworkers, and vendorsCommunicate professionally and respectfully with everyone you encounter while at workAdhere to all store and department policies and proceduresDemonstrate regular, predictable good attendanceAttend huddles and meetings as scheduledCommit to contributing to a positive, team-building work environmentALL MEAT & SEAFOOD STAFF WILL:Participate in the production and packaging of house-made productsPlace, receive, and store product orders as directedMaintain a fully stocked and clean departmentResponsibly fulfill all HAACP requirements in regards to product handling and record-keepingComplete tasks as assigned by the department managerFollow all Eastside Food Co-op and Meat & Seafood Department policies and proceduresTHE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:Passion for ethically raised meats and seafoods, natural foods, and co-opsExceptional customer service skillsThe ability to balance multiple prioritiesSelf-motivation; comfortable taking initiative and prioritizing tasksDesire to grow skills and knowledgeWeekend and evening availabilityThe ability to work with limited and no supervisionPHYSICAL DEMANDSStanding, bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, and walking for extended periods of time per shiftRepetitive bending and lifting of loads, not to exceed 50 pounds; pushing and pulling carts weighing up to 400 poundsEnvironmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation  Important Notice: The job duties, elements, responsibilities, skills, functions, experience, educational factors, and the requirements and conditions listed in this job description are representative only and not exhaustive of the tasks that an employee may be required to perform.  Eastside Food Co-op reserves the right to revise this job description at any time and to require employees to perform other tasks as circumstances or conditions of its business, competitive considerations, or the work environment change.
