Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide swimming instruction and communicate with the public for the City of Spartanburg. This is a permanent, part-time position.

Examples of Duties

• Teaches swimming lessons to all ages. • Teaches swimming techniques, strokes, and water safety rules to students of different ages and abilities. • Creates and adapts lesson plans according to students' needs and goals. • Assesses students' progress and provides feedback. • Monitors students' safety and prevents accidents and injuries. • Maintains a clean and organized pool environment. • Maintains good public relations through aquatic services and facilities. • Prevent accidents in the water and on the decks. • Provides enforcement of all rules and regulations as defined in Pool Operations. • Receives and handles complaints providing assistance, information, and solutions as needed. • Performs related work as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate of competency • Basic CPR and First Aid training

Supplemental Information

Pay rate: $16 per hour
