Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Physical Therapist (PT) Specialty: Outpatient Duration: 10 weeks Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience Required License: Active Michigan Physical Therapist License Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - PT Experience - Outpatient Experience - Skills Checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty Description: This position delegates responsibility to the Physical Therapist Assistant and Aides. Activities of this position are patient-focused. Utilizes assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with physical therapy standards, physician orders, and governing policies and procedures. Responsibilities: Evaluates the patient's function by performing formal and informal testing measures to determine skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status. Develops a goal-specific treatment regime based on assessment data and the patient's tolerance to carry out the treatment plan as prescribed. Submits a written treatment regime to be included as part of the plan of treatment authorized and coordinated with the physician. Updates plan of care as needed to reflect changes in patient status. Co-signs verbal orders received by physical therapist assistant as necessary. Devises a schedule of treatment that is frequency and duration specific. Discusses the schedule with patient, family, or caregiver and coordinates with clinical support staff. Educates patient, family, and/or caregiver regarding pathology or condition, patient alternatives, prognosis, and rationale for treatment. Interventions may include forms of rest, exercise, modalities, and other indicated interventions.
