QCM Microbiologist

Quality Control

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Completes daily assigned routine tasks timely and accurately (may include collection and/or testing of GMP samples, reporting of data, assisting other Microbiologists, general lab housekeeping).

• Serves on team projects (i.e. qualifications, investigation) in the role of testing support and initiation of investigation.

• Responsible for completing laboratory housekeeping to ensure safety and compliance.

• Identifies areas for improvement or gaps in both safety and compliance.

• Effectively communicates issues to the manager.

• Supports site initiatives and departmental goals.

• Job requires gowning into GMP manufacturing spaces to collect samples.

• Requires holiday and weekend work when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 1-2 years of experience in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

• Working knowledge of microbiological principles and their application in a regulated laboratory setting.

• Experience with one or more of the following:

• Microbial testing, including bioburden and endotoxin assays

• Environmental monitoring and contamination control programs

• Clean utility sampling and testing

• Familiarity with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and regulated laboratory operations.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Education:

BA/BS in Science field is required; BA/BS in Microbiology or Biology

The anticipated salary range for this position in Maryland is $83,000 to $110,000 plus annual bonus, when eligible. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc.
