Job Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Job Type: 6+ Months Contract

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for planning, designing the network, configuration documents and making sure that build is as per the document.

Looking for someone who can be a team player, collaborative and working with Global Team. Engineer should be comfortable interacting with a diverse client base and working collaboratively with others, learning and supporting new deployments and technologies, automating and improving processes and fixing problems as they arise.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
• Network architecture, design, and continuing improvement, installation, and software version control/revision on all network equipment.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with all aspects of edge networks and WAN architectures, including protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and strategies such as capacity planning, routing policies.
• Ability to work well within a team, provide technical guidance/mentor other team members, and network documentation proficiency.
• Sound knowledge and deploying Cisco Prime wireless heat maps, wireless controllers' series 5500
• Ability to conduct wireless site survey to provide adequate wireless coverage for business operations in R&D facility and office area.
• Maintain outstanding WAN/LAN/Data center/ Wireless/firewalls design & installation docs.
• With minor supervision, implements solutions that have limited system-wide impact.
• Escalates issues with broader implications for entire network to a higher-level network. Utilizes monitoring tools to capture and analyze network traffic, maintain uptime, generate usage reports, spot trends, and report any anomalies to the supervisor.
• Upgrades network hardware and software components as directed with limited assistance.
• Creates and maintains network documentation and diagrams as needed when assets are added or removed.
• Good knowledge in WAN Technologies like ACL, NAT, and PAT, IPSec, and VPNs.
• Provides users with network technical support.
• Experience of routing protocols like EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, BGP, and MPLS.
• Installs and tests necessary software and hardware in accordance with Change Management processes.
• Assists with core network tasks such as configuring switches, routers, VLAN's, firewall management, etc.
• Sets up, configures, and maintains VLAN, trunking (802.1q as well as ISL). Deploys and configures Cisco Switches, routers, core switches, and other network gear.
• Demonstrates great follow up and customer service skills
• Must have a good understanding of Network Industry Standards and Network Security Practices.
• Maintain outstanding WAN/LAN/Data center/ Wireless/firewalls design & installation docs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve critical incidents within defined SLA.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline
• 10+ years of proven experience in a network administrator role, managing and building a complex network
• Related network certifications (e.g. CCNP, CCDP)
• Routers, ACLs, best practices around management, control, and monitoring of network infrastructure
• Solid knowledge of general TCP/IP, LAN and WAN technologies
