Staff Accountant PEG Staffing & Recruiting | Full-Time | St. Louis County, MO 63141 PEG Staffing & Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for our prestigious client, a growing organization making a meaningful impact by improving infrastructure and helping communities nationwide. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys financial analysis, regulatory compliance, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. You'll collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Compliance teams while supporting regulatory filings, financial reporting, and process improvements. What You'll Do
- Prepare and support regulatory reports, schedules, and filings in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Ensure financial and regulatory reporting is accurate, timely, and supported by complete documentation.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting activities.
- Prepare account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and journal entries.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies across accounting and reporting systems.
- Assist with financial statements, management reports, audits, and regulatory examinations.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready workpapers and supporting documentation.
- Monitor regulatory changes and help implement updates to accounting and reporting processes.
- Partner with internal departments to resolve reporting issues and improve efficiency.
- Support special projects, financial analyses, and system or process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting .
- 2 + years of accounting experience , preferably in a regulated industry but open to new grads!!
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and month-end close.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Experience with regulatory reporting or compliance accounting.
- Familiarity with regulatory accounting requirements and reporting frameworks.
- Experience with ERP or financial reporting systems.
- Exposure to external audits or regulatory examinations.
