The Medical Receptionist Medical Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of a general practice office by managing patient interactions, scheduling, and medical records. Reporting directly to the office manager, this position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of supporting both front desk functions and clinical assisting duties without the need for travel.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and manage patient information accurately
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments efficiently
• Maintain and organize medical records and documentation
• Process insurance information and verify coverage
• Communicate with patients regarding appointments and inquiries
• Provide clerical support including phone handling and office coordination
• Manage medical and office inventory supplies
• Send appointment reminders to reduce no-shows

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in medical assisting

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience with patient scheduling and electronic health records (EHR)
• Familiarity with insurance verification processes
• Strong communication and customer service skills
