Ando is a messaging platform where AI agents can take on work alongside humans—and help teams work better together. We’re rebuilding Slack from the ground up around two core ideas: durable memory and agents as first-class participants. At the same time, Ando has to feel faster, lighter, and more delightful than the tools people use today. The bar is high. People need to want to spend hours of their working lives in Ando, and then convince their teammates and friends to do the same. We’re looking for founding researchers who are excited to work on new memory architectures, run experiments that will prediction features that actually get shipped, & other forms of applied research on the true frontier... What you’ll be doing at Ando We're starting a small research team dedicated to answering a simple question: Rather than training larger general-purpose models, we want to explore how systems can learn from a specific organization over time; developing memory, adapting to context, and becoming increasingly useful as they participate in work. The team's work will span theory, experimentation, systems design, and research publication. Initial work will be performed primarily on offline workspace data before transitioning into production systems used by every Ando customer. We expect the team to publish research as we make meaningful progress. However, ideas are not Ando's moat. Execution, product quality, and customer experience are. Our research is in service of our customers. Qualifications Strong technical communication: you can explain complex ideas simply and engage in high-bandwidth, generative technical conversation Strong applied research background, with focus on model evaluation, benchmarking, and/or failure analysis Work samples or code (e.g., eval frameworks, benchmark suites, failure-analysis reports or tooling) that demonstrate relevant skills Bonus: Familiarity with Cartridges, work around memory for multi-party, long-running use cases, or other relevant research Benefits Free Equinox membership & other health perks Generous equity grant vested over 4 years Health, dental, vision insurance #J-18808-Ljbffr Ando (ando.so)
