Small Animal Medical Director Veterinarian Job, Blairstown, New Jersey, USA

Job Description: Our client is seeking a Veterinary Medical Director to lead a busy and well-established small animal practice, combining clinical excellence with strong leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to guide a skilled team while continuing to deliver high-quality veterinary care across a varied and interesting caseload.

You will take an active role in shaping clinical standards, mentoring colleagues, and supporting the ongoing development of the hospital. With access to advanced diagnostic equipment and a diverse range of cases including exotics, this role offers both professional challenge and the chance to influence the future direction of a thriving practice.

Responsibilities:

Providing leadership and direction to the veterinary team across clinical operations
Maintaining high standards of patient care and ensuring consistent medical quality
Balancing management responsibilities with an active clinical workload
Supporting team development through mentorship and knowledge sharing
Collaborating with leadership to drive performance and long-term growth

Qualifications Needed:

A DVM or equivalent qualification with eligibility to practice in New Jersey
Previous leadership experience or a strong desire to step into a senior role
Confidence in general practice with solid medical and surgical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities within a team setting
Commitment to continuous improvement and high clinical standards
