Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Position Overview The Chemical Regulatory Compliance Specialist supports the management of global product and substance regulatory information. This role contributes to the authoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labeling in alignment with regional and international requirements. The position assists in product stewardship activities by reviewing raw material SDS, conducting substance hazard evaluations, and monitoring evolving regulatory requirements to help maintain compliance across global markets. Additionally, this role contributes to the classification of dangerous goods and executes key transactional processes that support the safe manufacturing, distribution, and commercialization of chemical products. Working as part of a cross‑functional team, the Chemical Regulatory Compliance Specialist partners with manufacturing, commercial, and regulatory colleagues to support day‑to‑day compliance and ensure consistency in hazard communication and regulatory practices globally. Job Responsibilities Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Authoring & Hazard Communication: Author, review, and maintain SDS and labels using the SDS authoring system in compliance with global regulations (e.g., GHS), ensuring accurate hazard classification and product safety information. (35%) Dangerous Goods Classification & Transportation Compliance: Classify dangerous goods per international regulations (ADR, IATA, IMDG, DOT) and ensure accurate shipping, labeling, and documentation. (10%) Regulatory Compliance & Product Approvals: Support global regulatory approvals for products and raw materials, including REACH and TSCA compliance activities. (25%) Hazard Evaluation & Regulatory Surveillance: Conduct hazard assessments and monitor regulatory changes, performing impact analyses to support compliance actions. (10%) Regulatory Data Management & Systems: Maintain accurate regulatory data in systems (e.g., SAP EHS), support system updates, and drive process improvements. (10%) Cross‑Functional Support & Compliance Assurance: Partner with internal teams to implement regulatory requirements, support audits, deliver training, and ensure ongoing compliance. (10%) Education & Experience Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Years of Experience: 5+ years experience Experience in chemical regulatory compliance, product stewardship, or EHS Hands‑on experience using SAP‑based SDS authoring systems to create, update, and manage Safety Data Sheets and labels, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance Experience in dangerous goods classification and transportation compliance (ADR, IATA, IMDG, DOT) Experience working with regulatory or EHS systems (e.g., SAP EHS or similar platforms) Skills Attention to detail with the ability to manage complex regulatory data accurately Analytical skills to assess regulatory impacts and interpret technical information Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and training Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, global environment Proficient in using AI‑enabled tools to support SDS authoring, hazard classification, and data extraction, with the ability to validate outputs Knowledge Knowledge of chemical regulatory frameworks (GHS, OSHA) Working knowledge of SAP and SAP SDS authoring systems, including data structures, material master integration, and regulatory data management to support compliant hazard communication Understanding of dangerous goods transportation regulations and classification systems Attributes Integrity and Ethical Judgment Problem Solver Organized and Structured Continuous Learner Collaborative Resilient Equal Opportunity Statement We are an Equal Opportunity, affirmatively action employer.
