Join the Department of Transportation as a Roadway Programs Technician 1 and help support safe and efficient maintenance operations across Pike County. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports roadway maintenance operations by assisting with data tracking, review, and planning tasks that guide decision making for Pike County. As a Roadway Programs Technician 1, you will perform the following duties: Data Management: Enter, review, and analyze roadway and materials data to support maintenance planning Inventory Tracking: Monitor material quantities, process load slips, and maintain accurate inventory records Contract Oversight: Coordinate with contractors, verify completed work, and ensure proper documentation Field Reviews: Visit sites to gather information, inspect guiderail damage, and document roadway conditions Customer Service: Communicate with internal staff, contractors, and the public to address questions and concerns Safety Support: Follow safety protocols and assist with reporting hazards and accidents Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Possible winter shift work as needed Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Technical Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
