Position Summary

The Assistant Clinical Director serves as a key clinical leader responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services across home, center, school, and community settings. This position provides clinical supervision to BCBAs, BCaBAs, RBTs, and Behavior Technicians while collaborating closely with the Clinical Director to oversee clinical operations, quality assurance, staff development, and family satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is an experienced BCBA who demonstrates exceptional clinical judgment, leadership, mentorship, organizational skills, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.

Essential Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

Provide ongoing supervision to BCBAs, BCaBAs, RBTs, and Behavior Technicians.

Ensure treatment plans are clinically appropriate, individualized, and implemented with fidelity.

Review assessments, treatment plans, behavior intervention plans, and progress reports.

Conduct quality assurance audits of clinical documentation.

Monitor client progress through ongoing data analysis and treatment modification.

Ensure compliance with BACB Ethics Code and all payer requirements.

Staff Development

Mentor newly hired clinicians and technicians.

Conduct competency assessments and performance evaluations.

Provide regular clinical feedback and coaching.

Lead staff trainings and continuing education opportunities.

Assist with onboarding clinical employees.

Clinical Operations

Maintain appropriate clinical caseload as assigned.

Assist with client intake, assessments, and service recommendations.

Collaborate with scheduling to ensure appropriate staffing.

Monitor authorizations and treatment utilization.

Participate in interdisciplinary meetings with families, schools, physicians, SLPs, OTs, and other providers.

Support implementation of new clinical initiatives and programming.

Quality Assurance

Ensure documentation meets payer and regulatory standards.

Conduct chart audits and corrective action plans.

Monitor treatment integrity across clinical teams.

Maintain accreditation and compliance standards.

Participate in incident review and risk management.

Family Collaboration

Build positive relationships with caregivers.

Participate in family guidance and parent training sessions.

Address clinical concerns promptly and professionally.

Ensure family goals remain integrated into treatment planning.

Organizational Leadership

Support strategic planning and organizational growth.

Assist with hiring and interviewing clinical staff.

Participate in leadership meetings.

Foster a positive workplace culture aligned with ELNC values.

Serve as acting Clinical Director when delegated.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field.

Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.

Maryland Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) (or eligibility to obtain immediately).

Minimum of three (3) years of post-certification ABA clinical experience.

Minimum of one (1) year supervising RBTs and clinical staff.

Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Strong knowledge of VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, PEAK, Vineland, FAST, Functional Behavior Assessments, and behavior intervention planning.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

Leadership or supervisory experience.

Experience in center-based and in-home ABA programs.

Experience with Medicaid and commercial insurance documentation.

Knowledge of OBM principles.

Experience with electronic health records and data systems.

CPR/First Aid certification.
