Events Coordinator - Part Time

The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio is a human relations organization dedicated to empowering people and organizations to embrace all forms of diversity and create communities where everyone belongs. Founded in 1927 as the National Conference of Christians and Jews (NCCJ), The Diversity Center is currently a member of the National Federation for Just Communities, a network of 20 like-minded organizations across the country. Primary Purpose/Job Summary The Events Coordinator will serve as a representative of The Diversity Center, enhancing its presence and reputation as a primary community resource in the area of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. This role will include leadership and support of our events. The Events Coordinator will work closely with the President and CEO and Chief Fundraising and Marketing Officer to expand the capacity and impact of The Diversity Center. They will assist all staff in fostering communities where all are connected, respected, and valued. Responsibilities & Duties/Essential Job Functions Humanitarian Award Dinner Responsible for all event logistics, including registration, RSVPs, meal sections, communications and contracting with vendors, nametags, table seating and assignments, catering orders, AV use, etc. Supports securing sponsorships and the execution of sponsorship benefits Lead the development of the Commemorative Tribute Book in partnership with Cleveland Jewish News, including selling advertisements Serve as the project manager for the event, including organizing and managing the event timeline and goals Design communications for Constant Contact and Social Media Packing and ordering of supplies as needed Spring Event Responsible for all event logistics, including registration, communications and contracting with vendors, layout, etc. Supports securing sponsorships and the execution of sponsorship benefits Coordinate closely with Hermes Sports and Events and the Great Lakes Science Center to ensure a successful event Responsible for recruiting participants Support teambuilding for the Executive Leadership Teams Securing all day of event contractors: trash, tents. security, portable toilets, trolley, parking & moving, etc. Update all materials for the meeting with the City of Cleveland Packing and ordering of supplies as needed Serve as the project manager for the event, including organizing and managing the event timeline and goals Development and Program Focused Events In partnership with staff and the Development Committee, assist / coordinate other events including house parties, museum tours, conferences, etc. Job Qualifications 3 years' experience leading the design, management and implementation of nonprofit fundraising events Experience with Constant Contact, Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite Excellent organizational and project management skills Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds Passion for the mission and values of The Diversity Center Flexibility to work some evenings/weekends with minimal travel Must have car, valid license, and current insurance coverage Preferred Skills Self-starter with an ability to conceive, develop, and complete tasks with minimal supervision Strong networking and relationship building skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to prioritize, organize & multitask many different elements of the job at once Ability to function independently and as a part of team Part time - 24 hrs/week Salary range - $40,000 - $50,000 annually #J-18808-Ljbffr RE/source by Plexus
