Milieu Support Specialist

Responsibilities The Brook Hospital KMI is seeking a Milieu Specialist who will develop and implement the therapeutic milieu within the Acute Psychiatric Services unit. The specialist will encourage a team approach to therapeutic interventions, assist nurse supervisors in monitoring unit activities and daily duties assigned to Mental Health Technicians, and serve as a resource to the interdisciplinary treatment team. The role includes direct care and management of patients, supervision, safety and crisis management, documentation of patient behavior and participation in programming, ensuring adherence to scheduled activities, role modeling positive behavior, utilizing positive behavioral strategies to minimize crises, and maximizing success. Hours: 2nd Shift Evening 1pm‑10:30pm or 2pm‑11:30pm. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree preferred; high school diploma required. Minimum 5 years of experience working in direct care settings. Must possess knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships, age‑specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior management, crisis management, and evidence‑based behavior practices. #J-18808-Ljbffr Universal Health Services
