Laboratory Technician

Laboratory Technician – Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America, Inc. Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America, Inc. (AKBA) is currently looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team. Location: Onsite in Glenview, IL. Full time position. Compensation: $22–26 per hour. Duties/Responsibilities Experimental: Lead laboratory support activities, including preparing and maintaining reagents, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and organizing lab spaces. Develop processes and procedures to ensure efficient usage of laboratory resources. Assist in the execution and documentation of laboratory experiments and analytical assays under the supervision of scientists to develop and study bioprocess filtration and chromatography operations, as needed. Understand and follow all SOPs and business practices to ensure that performance and documentation of all activities meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Manufacturing Support: Support manufacturing of EZ GPT Kits through Quality Control testing and reporting. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Good Documentation Practices. Attend and contribute to group meetings on a regular basis and provide written monthly status updates. Assist field staff with shipments of equipment for studies as necessary. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemical or Biomedical Engineering or a similar scientific discipline. Experience in a laboratory setting is strongly desired. Ability to work in a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory is required. Experience in a GMP or GLP environment is a plus. Physical Demands / Environmental Conditions Ability to work in a Biosafety Level 2 environment. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
