The role typically blends technical data engineering/analytics skills with business consulting and stakeholder engagement.ð¹ 1. Data Preparation & IntegrationCore responsibility: Transform raw data into usable, analytics-ready datasets.Extract data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, flat files, cloud platforms)Cleanse, standardize, and validate data (handling nulls, duplicates, inconsistencies)Join, union, and reshape datasets from disparate systemsBuild repeatable ETL/ELT workflows using Alteryx DesignerExample:Integrating AFS VDE and Collateral (Collate, nCino) data in Snowflake into a unified model for reportingð¹ 2. Workflow Development & AutomationCore responsibility: Replace manual processes with scalable automated workflows.Design modular, reusable Alteryx workflowsAutomate recurring data processes (daily, weekly reporting pipelines)Parameterize workflows for flexibility across use casesSchedule jobs using Alteryx Server / GalleryValue:Reduces manual interventionImproves consistency and auditabilitySpeeds up delivery timelinesð¹ 3. Reporting & Data Output EnablementCore responsibility: Deliver analytics-ready outputs for downstream use.Prepare curated datasets for BI tools (Tableau, Power BI)Generate reports or outputs directly from AlteryxEnsure outputs align with business logic and reporting definitionsEnterprise Example:Supporting operational reports tied to loan servicingð¹ 4. Requirements Gathering & Business TranslationCore responsibility: Bridge business needs with technical implementation.Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics needsTranslate business requirements into workflow logic and data transformationsDocument assumptions, mappings, and logic clearlyConsultative aspect:Recommend process improvements and alternative solutionsIdentify data gaps and risks earlyð¹ 5. Data Validation & Quality AssuranceCore responsibility: Ensure data accuracy and trust.Perform reconciliation against source systemsValidate transformations and outputsSupport UAT (User Acceptance Testing)Implement data quality checks within workflowsð¹ 6.
