Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710–$1,800
• Location: Leonardtown, Maryland
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Shift: Day shifts, 6:45 a.m.–7:15 p.m.
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Intermediate Care Unit (IMC)
• Patient Population: Adult patients
• Unit Capacity: Approximately 15 beds with an average daily census of 15
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend; coverage is assigned according to unit operational needs
• Call: Not required
• Float Expectations: Float to telemetry and medical-surgical units as needed

PCU Travel Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Maryland or a compact-state license
• At least 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit, intermediate care, IMC, or stepdown nursing experience
• At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• Successful completion of an EKG rhythm interpretation examination with a minimum overall score of 80% and a perfect score on lethal rhythms
• Demonstrated experience caring for patients requiring cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, renal care, sepsis management, diabetes care, COPD or asthma treatment, and post-surgical recovery
• Ability to provide two supervisory references, including one from the most recent travel assignment
• Ability to meet required health screening, influenza vaccination, laboratory, and onboarding requirements
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult Progressive Care Unit and intermediate-care patients
• Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms while promptly recognizing and escalating changes in patient condition
• Manage non-titratable cardiac drips, IV infusions, PCA therapy, and prescribed medication protocols
• Care for patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, oxygen therapy, chest tubes, and bedside monitoring
• Complete and document nursing assessments, medication administration, treatments, care plans, and patient education
• Provide central-line, peripheral-line, feeding-tube, and isolation-precaution care
• Support patients with sepsis, pneumothorax, ESRD or dialysis needs, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, and post-operative recovery
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Float to telemetry and medical-surgical units when needed while adapting to unit-specific workflows and patient ratios
• Participate in required weekend coverage and contribute to a supportive, team-focused clinical environment
