Preventive Maintenance Technician

Secure trucks on lifts and ramps Lubricate suspensions, perform oil changes, and replace minor parts Perform tire and brake maintenance Occasionally road-test vehicles Use U-Haul’s proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist Assess and care for field vehicles using U-Haul Company’s proprietary technology Lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following supervisor directives and guidance Work safely and remain alert during manual labor Lift at least 50 lbs., assisted or unassisted, and move frequently around and beneath equipment Requirements Basic mechanical aptitude Basic mechanical aptitude and repair experience preferred Driver’s license Ability to work as part of a team and individually Basic computer skills Regular attendance Ability to perform manual labor safely and remain alert Ability to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, safety shoes, goggles, gloves, or shields as required Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., assisted or unassisted Ability to stand, sit, move frequently, and move beneath equipment Willingness to lend assistance in additional areas as necessary Core Competencies Demonstrates basic mechanical aptitude and repair experience, with the ability to perform vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire and brake maintenance, and using proprietary technology for vehicle assessment. Capable of working safely in a manual labor environment while lifting heavy equipment and following safety protocols.
