Responsibilities We are currently looking for an dynamic professional to join our team. The Intake Coordinator assumes the responsibility for the coordination of an effective, efficient admission process for all patients by receiving referrals, gathering and verifying pertinent information, and completing necessary procedures to schedule patients for assessments. Inputs statistical information into appropriate hospital systems. Qualifications Total education, vocational training and experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field, or high school graduate with a minimum of two years clinical experience in a psychiatric setting. At least 1 year experience with insurance verification/billing preferred. Licenses or Certifications: Current CPR and Handle with Care; offered onsite to be obtained within three (3) weeks of hire. This role is part-time evenings 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. (weekdays) Skills and Abilities Excellent professional, organizational and communication skills. Ability to assess the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients during intake calls; Good knowledge of admitting and insurance verification; Effective verbal and written communication skills are required to communicate with patients, families, referral sources, community agencies, and staff. Knowledge of telephone etiquette is required; Must be able to interact with patients, physicians, families and hospital personnel in a professional and empathetic manner; Demonstrates strong knowledge of computer input and skills; Knowledge of medical terminology; Must have ability to work under stressful circumstances with frequent interruptions, multi-task and be detail oriented; Work is of medium demand, requiring heavy telephone and personal contact with patients, referral sources, community agencies and insurance companies.
