General Manager

We are seeking a talented General Manager to join our team! Applicants should have experience managing a Rooftop Bar/Lounge and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of hospitality management experience in a Rooftop Bar/Lounge environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer functions
• Expert knowledge of POS (Point of Sale) systems

Responsibilities Operations Management

• Be accountable for all facets of the operation, including:
  • Perform shift “walk-throughs” to assess staffing, maintenance, cleanliness, zoning, and any special needs
  • Master the computer register system and all front-of-house and back-of-house operations
  • Master all job functions within the property, both front and back of house
  • Master the use of equipment and utensils related to the operation
  • Manage the atmosphere of the property, including lighting, music, and temperature levels
• Manage all inventory and equipment, including:
  • Identifying needs and communicating with appropriate individuals regarding ordering, maintenance, or repairs
  • Ensuring adequate inventory par levels
  • Documenting inventory and equipment information in the computer/register system as needed on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas throughout the shift and leave the property ready for business for the following shift

Financial Management

• Oversee and assume responsibility for all financial aspects of the operation, including:
  • Master all financial procedures
  • Verify all daily sales transactions
  • Make bank deposits according to the corporate-approved schedule
  • Authorize comps and voids for service personnel
  • Review sales data and make appropriate adjustments
  • Develop and implement strategies to control costs

People Management

• Develop the management team and all employees in areas including personal growth, operational and financial knowledge and skills, interpersonal skills, teamwork, and organizational techniques
• Create effective work schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels
• Create agendas and conduct periodic management meetings
• Assist with reviewing and amending agendas for shift service meetings conducted by shift supervisors
• Schedule, conduct, and document employee reviews according to standard operating procedures
• Identify, address, and document individual employee disciplinary matters according to standard operating procedures
• Manage employees in a fair, consistent, and equitable manner

Guest Relations Management

• Address guest complaints and concerns effectively and courteously as needed
• Confirm guest reservations to forecast guest counts and ensure smooth shift operations
• Determine when to discontinue liquor service to an intoxicated guest and advise co-workers on how to responsibly handle the situation
• Establish strong relationships with guests to promote goodwill and solicit feedback, opinions, and ideas

Compliance

• Ensure compliance with and uphold all applicable employment laws, company policies, and Gerber Group policies and procedures, including:
  • Complete opening sanitation checklists, assign sanitation projects to hourly staff, and adhere to sanitation guidelines prescribed by applicable state and city codes
  • Maintain quality standards, including consistency and presentation
  • Ensure proper storage according to standard operating procedures
  • Adhere to established zoning procedures
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas to ensure a safe working environment

Reporting

• Document appropriate information in the Management Log Book and applicable software programs and review daily
• Read and review appropriate intercompany memorandums
• Review pertinent rating reports and make appropriate adjustments
• Complete a daily labor report according to standard operating procedures

Recruitment

• Interview, hire, document, and train new front-of-house employees
• Assist with staffing needs and maintain appropriate staffing levels

General

• Complete projects as assigned in a timely manner
• Communicate problems to appropriate supervisors and/or managers immediately
• Attend appropriate management meetings and periodic informational meetings
• Research current industry trends and implement changes accordingly
• Cultivate personal growth and entrepreneurial skills based on reviews and feedback from supervisors
• Maintain a well-manicured appearance and professional demeanor that reflects the established image of the company
