Nussbaum is growing, and so is the expectation we place on our accounting function: we don't just close the books, we tell leadership what the numbers mean. The Senior Financial Accountant is a technical anchor on our Financials & Payables team — the person who produces accurate financials and then owns the story behind them. If you're energized by digging into the data, building the analysis, and helping a business make better decisions, this seat is for you.

Below is a list of core responsibilities.

• Financial reporting & close — Own assigned areas of the monthly close; deliver accurate, on-time financials with variance commentary that explains the why.
• Analysis & insight — Build recurring and ad-hoc analysis (Excel/Power Query, Power BI, NetSuite). Surface trends, risks, and opportunities to leadership before you're asked.
• Payables & controls — Carry a defined share of the payables workload with strong controls discipline (segregation of duties, payee validation, vendor setup).
• Process & systems — Contribute to our NetSuite implementation and post-go-live refinement; build automation that removes manual drag.
• Cross-coverage — Serve as a backup in an adjacent critical function so the team has depth everywhere it matters.
• Owner mindset — Treat every dollar and every interaction the way an owner would.

Schedule

• Full time: Monday-Friday, 7am – 4:30pm
• Location: Corporate Offices – 19336 N 1425 East Rd., Hudson IL

Here's the type of person we're looking for:

Experience & Qualifications

• Accounting or finance degree; CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience; multi-entity exposure a plus.
• Strong technical toolkit: Excel/Power Query and Power BI; ERP experience (NetSuite a plus).
• Proven ability to translate data into a clear narrative for non-finance leaders.
• Self-starter who follows through — owns the work end-to-end.
