Job Summary and Qualifications The professional Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a patient and family advocate, applying nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care. The RN collaborates with the care team to achieve quality outcomes aligned with Methodist Excellence. Essential Job Functions: Apply nursing judgment through a systematic nursing process: Assessment: Conduct comprehensive, timely physical, psychosocial, pain assessment, including patient education needs. Planning: Identify problems, make nursing diagnoses, set goals, teaching plans, incorporate family into care plans. Implementation: Prioritize and implement a competent, efficient plan. Evaluation/Reassessment: Conduct timely evaluation, anticipate changes, adjust plan, compare outcomes. Collaborate with the patient care team and communicate via verbal, written, or electronic modalities; incorporate hand‑off and SBAR communication. Demonstrate critical thinking, prioritize, self‑check errors, and initiate corrective actions. Document accurately and timely in the patient medical record. Maintain current nursing knowledge and practice safety, quality, infection, fall, medication, hourly rounding, AIDET principles. Supervise delegated tasks to unlicensed personnel per Texas BON. Qualifications: Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Less than 1 year applicable experience required. Background knowledge in diverse patient populations.
