Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients in the L&D area according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines while applying critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor labor progress, administer medications as ordered, and document care accurately.
• Communicate effectively with obstetric team, anesthesiology, and ancillary staff to ensure safe, evidence-based care.
• Maintain patient and family education, advocate for patient safety, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license to practice in California.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Experience: Obstetric and/or labor and delivery nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to work a 12-hour night shift and participate in a travel assignment.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and collaboration skills; ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
