Step into a rewarding opportunity to support elementary students with diverse learning needs in a contract Special Education teaching position. This role focuses on building meaningful connections with students, guiding them toward academic and personal growth through individualized support and collaboration with fellow educators.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about inclusive education and experienced in adapting curriculum to meet a wide range of learning styles. Multiple positions are available, specializing in Life Skills, Autistic Support, and Learning Support (with a split between two buildings). Your dedication will have a direct, positive impact on young learners, helping them develop confidence and independence every step of the way.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Previous experience in elementary settings preferred
- Demonstrated skill supporting students with autism, intellectual disabilities, and varied learning differences
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and specialists
- Strong communication and organizational talents
- Adaptability and creativity when working in fast-paced educational environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to the individual needs of each student
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to facilitate learning
- Collaborate with general education teachers to promote inclusivity
- Monitor student progress and document outcomes
- Provide direct instruction in Life Skills, Autistic Support, or Learning Support settings
- Foster a safe, supportive environment for social, emotional, and academic development
