Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting student success for the 2026/2027 school year as a Special Education Teacher. In this full-time position, you’ll play a vital role fostering growth and learning among SLS students in grades 3-5. Your day will run from 7:45 AM – 4:00 PM in a nurturing and collaborative educational environment.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• Valid state Special Education Teacher certification
• Previous experience working with students in SLS (grades 3-5 preferred, but not required)
• Strong classroom management skills and understanding of IEP processes
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• A commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive classroom culture

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans tailored to individual education plans (IEPs) for a diverse caseload of 3rd to 5th grade students
• Utilize evidence-based practices to promote student engagement and progress
• Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to maximize learning opportunities
• Track student progress, conduct assessments, and maintain thorough, accurate records
• Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and modifications according to student needs
• Foster a safe, motivating classroom that encourages independence and self-advocacy
