ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

Benefits Nine Paid Holidays Competitive salary Health insurance Paid time off Training & development Accounting Specialist We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, accounts receivables/payables, and month-end closing processes. This successful candidate will have the duties of ensuring accurate financial records, managing reporting processes, monitoring profitability, and supporting company leadership with financial analysis and operational accounting functions. Key Responsibilities Manage daily accounting operations including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger activities Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records Enter and process invoices, payments, deposits, and customer account activity Monitor and collect past due accounts and maintain Accounts Receivable aging reports Review daily sales and profitability reports to investigate discrepancies and margin variances Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for management Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes in Sage Prepare reports and documentation for CPA review and tax reporting Maintain customer account setup and financial data accuracy Ensure timely processing of recurring invoices, payments, and reconciliations Support inventory, fuel surcharge, and operational reporting processes Assist with compliance reporting including 1099s, sales tax, and unclaimed property filings Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field 3+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping Extensive work with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and financial reporting Experience with Sage 100 ERP systems preferred Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities Attention to detail with strong communication and time management skills Experience working in a small to mid-sized company environment Benefits Competitive Salary Nine Paid Holidays Paid Vacation and Sick Leave Health Insurance Stable, established company with long-term employees Opportunity to make a meaningful contribution in a key accounting role About Us We are a well-established food distribution company serving the Dallas-Fort Worth market for over 54 years with approximately $8 million in annual revenue.
