Maintenance TechnicianWork Schedule: 12-month Salary Classification: Support Staff Salary Schedule - Group C $16.73General Statement of Responsibilities: To ensure the health and safety of students, staff and the general public by ensuring efficient maintenance and operation of school facilities.Essential FunctionsCompletes assigned preventive maintenance and repair work orders in the district, for mechanical, electrical and building systems;Performs facilities maintenance and repairs such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, and roofing as assigned;May assist custodians with furniture and equipment moving for cleaning and special events;Monitors school facilities on a regular basis to determine the type of repairs and maintenance required;Assists with monitoring for and compliance with all applicable codes and regulations;Operates welding and cutting equipment;Operates tractors and other heavy equipment;May test and maintain records and maps of all gas mains and service lines;Participates in various training sessions to upgrade skills;Utilizes blueprints and general operating manuals in the performance of duties;Performs other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsA. Education, Training & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; One year of related experience required; Two years of experience in related field preferred; Ability to communicate and work well with staff and the general public; Valid Arizona driver's license.B. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 75 lbs. without assistance.C.
