Construction Project Manager

HDR is an employee‑owned firm dedicated to shaping the future of electricity. We are searching for a Construction Project Manager in our Power sector to manage multi‑discipline projects, build client relationships, and lead construction support activities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key client contact, building and maintaining client relations with both internal and external stakeholders and developing new Construction Services clients.
• Work with marketing for proposal development and opportunity tracking.
• Oversee contract and MSA negotiations, conduct resource recruitment, and provide invoice approval and budget development for multiple projects concurrently.
• Serve as the key client contact and project manager on larger projects involving multiple services and personnel, making decisions on staffing levels, field resources, and coordination of external resources.
• Lead business development in the area as it relates to Construction Services, maintaining annual goals.
• Develop and lead the QA/QC process on a project‑specific basis and maintain project document control.
• Assist or lead projects as a client lead and/or project manager.
• Support the development of new and existing clients throughout the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Construction or design certifications.
• Experience with estimating software (Timberline), scheduling software (Primavera P6 or SureTrak), and project management software (Prolog).
• Ability to interpret construction schedules.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science, or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in various aspects of construction planning and management, including field engineering, construction submittals, estimating, scheduling, and site safety.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Prolog, Primavera, or Bluebeam.

Location & Compensation

Primary location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Other possible locations include Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland (Ohio) and Mechanicsburg (Pennsylvania). Salary range: $89,460 – $127,800, depending on skills, experience, education, and geography.
