Join a premier landscape design-build firm that has been defining the Hamptons landscape for nearly 50 years. We are seeking a world-class Tree and Shrub Buyer to lead our procurement strategy, traveling nationwide to source the finest plant material for our high-end, innovative projects. This is a rare, senior-level role for a horticulture expert who thrives on negotiation, quality control, and large-scale inventory management.
Executive Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $185,000 – $250,000 (Commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Establish and maintain a nationwide network of elite nursery growers to secure top-tier plant material.
- National Travel: Conduct extensive travel across the U.S. to inspect stock, attend industry events, and build supplier relationships.
- Supply Chain & Logistics: Coordinate all aspects of freight, direct-to-site shipping, and the PO system; manage SKU development and inventory records.
- Project Collaboration: Partner with Designers and Project Managers on plant sizing, appearance, and availability to meet "Hamptons-standard" aesthetics.
- On-Site Management: Oversee the care and maintenance of material at our nursery farms and job sites; supervise receiving teams and coordinate digging/planting.
- Financial Oversight: Manage large-scale procurement budgets, maximize margins, and analyze market trends to inform buying decisions.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Forestry, or Business (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Proven track record in high-value tree/shrub procurement or arboriculture within the luxury landscape industry.
- Expertise: Deep taxonomic knowledge of tree and shrub species, growth habits, and cultivation standards.
- Negotiation: Exceptional ability to secure advantageous supplier agreements and manage vendor performance.
- Logistics: Proficiency in procurement software, data analysis, and inventory tracking.
- Mobility: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively and work on-site in Bridgehampton, NY .
