Specimen Processor I

Specimen Processor I position in a high-throughput diagnostic laboratory setting. Responsible for accessioning, sorting, labeling, and data entry of clinical specimens according to standard procedures. Evening shift Monday-Friday with rotating Saturday hours.

Responsibilities

• Unpack, identify, label, and route clinical specimens to designated staging areas
• Perform accurate patient information data entry in timely manner
• Pack and ship processed specimens to appropriate testing facilities
• Resolve and document problem specimens; store excess samples properly
• Meet departmental activity and production goals in high-volume environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to accurately identify and handle biological specimens
• Strong data entry and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds regularly
• Pass standardized color blindness test
• Proficiency with MS Office applications
• 1+ year lab, accessioning, production, or warehouse experience (preferred)
