Senior Accountant, North America

Position Overview The Senior Accountant at Molecular Devices , a Danaher operating company, manages accounting operations, maintains the general ledger, ensures compliance with accounting standards, Danaher policies, and regulatory requirements, and delivers insightful financial analysis to drive business decisions. The role supports monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and plays a critical part in accurate financial reporting. Location & Employment Type San Jose, CA – on‑site . Responsibilities Prepare journal entries and reconcile monthly general ledger balances for assigned balance sheet accounts in compliance with company policies. Own U.S. balance sheet flux analysis and maintain key working capital data points; analyze financial results and provide detailed variance explanations to management. Identify opportunities for process improvements and internal control enhancements. Lead cross‑functional initiatives and accounting projects to successful implementation. Participate in Kaizen events as a finance representative, contributing to process improvement and problem‑solving efforts and completing assigned action items within established timelines. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s degree in Accounting with 3+ years of experience OR Doctoral degree in Accounting with 0+ years experience. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial accounting standards with experience working in a public company environment. Proficiency with Oracle ERP systems, reporting tools, and advanced Excel skills. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across functions. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA), ideally with experience in a Big Four or large regional accounting firm. Experience with financial systems implementations or process automation initiatives. Experience in the life sciences industry, particularly within a manufacturing environment. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $120,000 – $130,000 (within good faith range). The role is eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
