Regional Nurse Consultant – Skilled Nursing Turnaround Chicagoland Area | $140K–$155K Base Salary Priority Search Management is seeking experienced Regional Nurse Consultants to support the clinical turnaround and stabilization of multiple skilled nursing facilities across the Chicagoland region. This is a high-impact regional leadership role focused on improving clinical operations, strengthening regulatory compliance, and driving accountability across underperforming facilities. This is not a bedside nursing role — it is an operational and clinical leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in challenging environments and knows how to create structure, elevate standards, and lead through influence. We are looking for strong clinical leaders who are comfortable stepping into complex situations, partnering with facility leadership teams, and driving measurable improvement across multiple buildings. What You’ll Do Partner with Directors of Nursing (DONs), Administrators, and corporate leadership to improve clinical performance Conduct audits including med carts, MAR/TAR, chart reviews, transfers, and compliance processes Assess staff competency and identify operational gaps Implement standardized clinical processes and regulatory standards Drive survey readiness and support response planning Improve accountability, documentation, and clinical consistency Support incident review and reporting decisions Reduce agency utilization and improve operational discipline Help stabilize facilities facing regulatory and operational challenges The Environment This is a true turnaround opportunity supporting facilities with: 1-star CMS ratings Behavioral health and substance use populations Regulatory pressure and survey risk Union environments (SEIU and Teamsters) Success in this role requires resilience, strong leadership presence, regulatory expertise, and the ability to influence teams without direct authority. What Success Looks Like Within the first 6 months, successful Regional Nurse Consultants will: Help facilities move out of immediate regulatory risk Improve survey readiness and audit outcomes Standardize clinical processes across buildings Improve documentation and staff accountability Reduce agency usage and support cost control initiatives Build credibility with facility leadership teams Qualifications Required Active RN license Strong skilled nursing / long-term care clinical background Deep understanding of regulatory compliance and survey processes Strong clinical judgment and operational mindset Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively Comfortable in high-pressure, fast-paced environments Preferred Regional or multi-site oversight experience Turnaround or underperforming facility experience Behavioral health or substance use population experience Union environment experience This Role Is Not the Right Fit For Someone Who: Avoids difficult conversations or accountability Requires heavy structure or daily direction Struggles in fast-changing or high-pressure environments Lacks strong regulatory depth within skilled nursing Compensation & Structure Base Salary: $140K–$155K Regional on-site role covering multiple Chicagoland facilities Travel between facilities required Opportunity for long-term regional growth and advancement If you are a clinically strong nursing leader who can step into complex environments, build accountability, and drive meaningful operational improvement, we would love to connect with you.
