Director of Nursing (DDS)

Hiring: Director of Nursing (DON) – OPWDD Programs Location: Queens | Full-Time We’re looking for an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and oversee nursing services across our OPWDD-certified residential programs. This role is ideal for a strong RN leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality, compliant care and driving clinical excellence. You’ll provide leadership to nursing staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to continuously improve medical services for individuals in our care. Key Responsibilities Provide overall clinical leadership and oversight of nursing services Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff (team of ~5 nurses) Ensure compliance with OPWDD, CMS, and DOH regulations Lead quality assurance , audits, and performance improvements Participate in care planning, assessments, and admissions Conduct program visits and ensure audit readiness Deliver staff training and ongoing clinical education Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance care delivery ✅ Qualifications Active RN License (New York State) Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN required, MSN preferred) 5+ years of experience with 2+ years in leadership Experience in OPWDD, community residences, or nursing homes Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Valid driver’s license (ability to travel between sites) CPR & First Aid (preferred) Availability for on-call support as needed What We Offer Comprehensive Medical, Dental & Vision coverage 401(k) retirement plan Life & Disability Insurance Employee Assistance Program Additional benefits (legal support, pet insurance, discounts, etc.) Equal Opportunity Employer We are committed to diversity and inclusion and welcome all qualified applicants.
