Physical Therapy Assistant

Job Description Job Description Summary: Provides physical therapy as prescribed by the patient's physician, under the supervision of a Physical Therapist Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Note: Other Duties May Be Assigned) - Performs services planned, delegated, and supervised by the therapist - Assists in preparing clinical notes and progress reports; - Participates in educating the patient and family; - Provides services planned, delegated, and supervised by the therapist; - Participates in in-service programs; - Must be able to communicate instructions to the patient; - Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and home care staff. - Participates in patient case conferences as requested. - Able to see and hear adequately to respond to auditory and visual requests which relate to the coordination of Agency activities. - Able to speak in a clear, concise voice in order to communicate direction for homecare activities and staff. - Maintains confidentiality of all patient, Agency and employee matters. - Submits documentation within required timeframes. Qualifications: - Graduate of an Accredited School of Physical Therapy as a Physical Therapy Assistant Education and/or Experience: - One year of physical therapy experience is required. Language Skills: - Must possess good communication skills, both written and verbal in English. Ability to communicate in other foreign languages is desirable. Mathematical Skills: - Math skills required Reasoning Ability: - Able to work under pressure and handle multi-task functions. Must be able to deal effectively with people. Must be self-motivated and resourceful. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: - Licensed as a physical therapy assistant in the State of Florida. Physical Demands - Physical demands for this position include an ability to assist and lift patients and have a physical exam that is free from communicable diseases.
