Job Summary : Responsible for the professional execution and presentation of classic, high-end gemstone jewelry designs at the highest level. The Jewelry Designer will guide each design from initial concept through production. Key Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities : Creation of sophisticated, classic designs that are marketable, saleable, and reflect both the Oscar Heyman aesthetic and client requests. Designs across all product categories, including one-of-a-kind pieces, collections, and special orders. Creates gouache, perspective, and digital renderings to present design concepts and gemstone layouts to leadership and clients. Works under the guidance of the CAD Department and Director of Manufacturing, collaborating with the workshop to ensure each design is accurate and buildable. Produces accurate technical and shop drawings to guide manufacturing. Participates in the development of new collections, including research for inspiration, drawing on the Oscar Heyman design archive to bring a modern perspective to the house's heritage. Delivers all designs on a timely basis while managing multiple projects with the highest standards of precision. Job Qualifications: Graduate of a leading jewelry design program (BFA or AAS in Jewelry Design, Industrial Design, Fine Arts) or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of experience in fine or high jewelry design, with a focus on gemstone-intensive pieces. Extraordinary mastery of hand sketching, gouache, and perspective rendering techniques, supported by a strong portfolio. Very good knowledge of gemology, precious metals, jewelry construction, proportion, stone setting, and manufacturing techniques. Strong knowledge of the fine jewelry industry and the creative activity of competing houses. Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Procreate, with working knowledge of Rhino and MatrixGold. Strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and discretion with high-value materials and confidential information. A GIA Graduate Gemologist (GG) diploma, bench experience, or experience at a luxury jewelry house or high-end manufacturer is a plus. Familiarity with SolidWorks or ZBrush, special-order design experience, or knowledge of 20th-century jewelry history is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr Oscar Heyman
