Job Overview Guest Service Captain orchestrates the service experience for hotel guests, working alongside coworkers to ensure the site’s service standards are met or exceeded. Under the direction of the Account Manager, the role involves coordination, administration, troubleshooting and guidance when the manager is not on site. While not a manager, the Guest Service Captain may handle critical issues and make judgment calls when expediency is required. Responsibilities Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor, greeting guests within 30 seconds of arrival to create favorable first and last impressions. Open all vehicle and hotel doors for guests; check in arriving guests; explain vehicle parking and retrieval procedures; park and retrieve vehicles safely. Use proper phone etiquette; post up in appropriate areas when not assisting guests; conduct effective room presentations for bell services; assist with delivery and pick up of items to guest rooms; provide directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; maintain knowledge of client facilities and local attractions. Promote teamwork by leading the group, appointing associates to routine roles, and assigning coworkers as directed by the Account Manager. Reduce staff during the shift if business conditions dictate, using an approved method. Issue claim checks to guests only after receiving vehicle keys; collect vehicle claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys; complete ticket information including key tag, guest folio, and location of vehicle. Ensure staff do not provide “lift” services to any guest; check wheelchairs for safe operation before use and clean them afterward; protect guest confidentiality per HIPAA; maintain security of financial and identifying information. Assist the Account Manager with building work schedules; make calls on behalf of the manager to notify associates of schedule changes; identify and collect revenue for all vehicles; complete accurate cash drop slips and envelopes; finish shift reports and other paperwork; reconcile revenue and tickets at shift end. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Must be at least 18 years of age and pass a criminal background check, MVR and drug screen. Complete the Wheelchair Safety Training course provided by Towne Park. Six (6) months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; must be able to drive a manual transmission vehicle. Proficient in Standard English: speak, read, and write; understand and follow simple instructions. Mathematical proficiency: add, subtract, multiply, and divide three‑digit numbers and currency amounts; understand 24‑hour and military time; calculate rates for time passed.
