Senior Business Process Analyst

Summary

The Senior Business Process Analyst evaluates, maps and improves our operational workflows to cut costs, reduce waste and increase efficiency. Documents how processes work today, identifies root causes of problems, and recommends and leads improvements through implementation. Works with stakeholders across departments and reports directly to the CEO, operating with a high degree of independence.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Walk through current processes with the people who run them and document how the work is actually done today.
• Map current workflows and design future-state processes using flowcharts and standard notation.
• Build and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for processes across the business.
• Interview stakeholders and gather performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and compliance risks.
• Analyze root causes and recommend data-driven improvements and automation that support company goals.
• Work with stakeholders across departments to resolve conflicting needs and build agreement on changes.
• Lead process change implementation and testing, and confirm changes produce measurable improvements.
• Train employees and guide teams through adopting new systems and updated procedures.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Accounting or Economics.
• Required: 5 to 8 years of experience in business process analysis or process improvement.
• Required: Hands-on experience working in SAP.
• Preferred: Lean or Six Sigma training or certification (Green Belt or higher).

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Working knowledge of SAP and how business processes run through it.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment on complex problems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once.
• Ability to document current processes accurately and design practical improvements.
• Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
• Experience with process mapping tools such as Visio or Lucidchart, and data analysis tools such as Excel and Power BI.

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting: Sits at a desk and works at a computer monitor for most of the workday.
• Lifting: Lifts light office items such as files, laptops or notepads, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
• Mobility: Walks and stands occasionally, mostly for brief periods during meetings, presentations or moving around the office.
• Dexterity: Frequently uses hands and fingers for typing, operating computers and handling documentation.
